It has been so long since the last time I updated this blog. Last April, the gals and I decided to go for a very last minute road trip. Our initial mission was just to attend Ida's wedding. With the last minute booking and etc. I have to admit, it was so much fun...

Day 1: Friday (29 April 2011)
First, picked up my allies, Seri Kembangan-KL Sentral and off to Tanjung Malim. Wanted to meet the bride but she was too busy to entertain us, sobsob! Had lunch at a mamak's (sangat tidak menarik) then continued our journey to Felda Residence Hot Springs situated about 40 minutes from Tg Malim at Sg Klah, Sungkai, Perak. Here's the map:

Since it was a working day, there were only few guests around the resort. We booked two deluxe rooms thru the website. If you're interested in the villas, then you need to book through phone. Am not sure why don't they allow it thru the internet. The room was quite huge, inside it you'll find a mini fridge, a queen size bed, flat screen tv with satellite channels (huhu... including AXN), iron board, bathroom with a bath tub, electric kettle and to sum up, all the basic necessities that u need.Ok, in the evening we wondered around the pool area. Since there were only few guests around, we had most of the pools to ourselves. And yes, I had loads of fun with the slides.

Lunch: Kopi O’ Corner (Satok area, across Bank Negara, underneath the flyover, but if you go there during weekdays, then u need to purchase the parking coupon)

Yummy Laksa Sarawak

Indian Street- Shopping time! Need to bargain for price, the place to buy local textiles... (at the end of the street, you can see the Textile Museum and the Handicraft Centre but we didn’t manage to visit them)

Checked in at Telang Usan Hotel (Ban Hock Road):

RM120/nite, twin single beds incl. Breakfast- Telang Usan means Sweet River (Iban language)

Strolled along Waterfront, hired a penambang (water taxi) for 4 of us only, the man took us to witness the mesmerizing sunset along Sarawak River and the cruise took about 45 mins for RM60. The boat cruise costs RM60/person for 45mins. So, I believe it was a good bargain, though we could hv negotiated with the man but we decided to agree with his price

Dinner: Barok Village, nice deco but the food was not as nice as what I’ve read from several blogs... though we enjoyed the Midin Belacan (local paku pakis- a type of leaf plant)

Crossed the river again by the local council’s boat for free.

Stopped by at McD for sundaes, and there was where I managed to pull out the fish bone that got stucked while eating dinner at Barok, it was a painful experience!

Sweet dreams, back to the hotel to rest...zzzz

Alhamdulillah... after waiting for so long... we booked our flights a year ago with Airasia and finally, stepped our feet onto the Borneo Land- Sarawak for 6 days, 5 nites...

Monday: 19/4/2010

My journey started at 1250, I took ERL to Salak Tinggi from Putrajaya station and as I stepped down from the train, a porter escorted me to the LCCT bus that was waiting for me... at 1230, I arrived safely at KLIA, LCCT Terminal. I believe it was a very efficient service. The direct tickets are not sold separately, you need to inform the ERL station counterman that you would like to buy a ticket to LCCT instead of Salak Tinggi station.

Met Nazz and Iza at 1230 and waited anxiously for Ida’s arrival. She managed to arrive 5 mins before they closed the counter. Fuh!!!

We took off from LCCT at 1530 and reached Miri Airport at about 1750. The flight was delayed for about 15 mins. Rented Matrix Hyundai from Hertz with a very reasonable rate. Check it HERE. My good friend, Pian was very kind to greet us at the airport. It has been ages since the last time I saw him. He led us the way to Kingwood Inn and later took us for dinner at Sajian Warisan. Nice place, nice food!

And later he drove us around Miri town, told stories about the legend of Atok Brunei, visited the largest house, passed by Tanjong Lobang and Luak Esplanade beaches, walked around Marina Bay and so on... And as parted, I wished him all the happiness as he’s gonna be a groom soon.

The room at the hotel was not bad lah, though I booked single twins, but they gave us double bed rooms, ok jelah... got fridge inside, nice bathroom and most importantly, the rooms were clean... Rate per nite: RM85nett

Tuesday: 20/4/2010

Pian offered his friend to show us around the town but I convinced him that we’d find our way using the map as he went for off-shore visit today. So, first destination: Awang Mahyan Cafe (located at the shop houses next to Bintang Mall) and we all had Mee Kolok Sapi... It was a very delightful meal. And 5 thumbs up for it!

Next, we headed to Miri City Fan, walked around, posed a lot and done!

Then, off to Ng Sian Hup Pottery Factory at Jln Datuk Edward Jeli with the hope of watching the pottery making process... But somehow, tersalah info and we ended up deciding to come back again later in the evening as Naz wanted to buy the cheap chocs. The convenience shop, as I would call it, offered varieties of local snacks, not really local lah... more of Philippines’ products. So, we explored the taste of their nuts, Iza bought herself Cheetos, Ida got herself some souvenirs and we had smiles on our faces as we walked out of the place.

Next, we walked around the Tamu Muhibbah and Ida bought Bario Rice. Local products such as vegetables and fruits may be found here.

We headed to Miri Handicraft Centre and picked up some local souvenirs for our deareast friends n relatives. People claim that the price might be a bit expensive than other places... but we didn’t know wherelse to get better deals...

Our favourite activity: LUNCH at Banana Leaf Restaurant located at Jalan Kubu

The owner persuaded us to try out their well-known fish head curry and so we did. It was the utmost nicest meal for the whole Borneo trip... so I’d say it is a must-try meal if you are ever in Miri. The owner informed us that he enjoyed watching us indulged in our meal.... We really did!

Then, we went back to the hotel for prayers and made our way up the Canada Hill to visit the Grand Old Lady and Petroleum Museum. The city view from the hill was also magnificent...Last nite we did not manage to capture the landmark statue of Miri and as for that reason, we visited Marina Bay again to capture photos with the Seahorse Statue- the mascott for Miri.

After spending some time there, we went for d 2nd trip to d Pottery Factory fpr the chocs n snacks....and then, Iza finally decided to get herself the DSLR and a visit to the Bintang Mall (Pian addresses the place as Parkson) it was... Mind u, if you r really a shopaholic, Miri Parkson offers discounts more than other Parksons that I have ever gone to. But, we didn’t do any shopping as we thought of our limited weight for the Airasia luggages Sigh!

As our tummies growled again, before our `batteries’ started to run out, we drove ourselves to Muara Restaurant located at the Miri Waterfront. The place was a non-stop full house and it’s really famous for its Nasi Lalapan@ Nasi Ulam, white rice that is served with lots of ulam celur, Sambal Belacan and a fried marinated dish of your choice- Ayam/ Ikan keli/ Ampal@daging etc. and many more...I had Nasi Lalapan Ikan Keli and Teh C Special (3 Layered Tea)

Checked out of the hotel at 6.15am

Reached Miri airport at 6.30am

Dropped the car keys at the Hertz counter and checked in at about 640am

Took off to Kuching at about 0815.

What I can conclude about Miri is... it is a very calm city, cool drivers, friendly people and now I understand why Pian adores it very much!

For us to reach the RPP, we had to pass thru Dengkil, Banting, Pantai Morib then right after Tongkah, u'll see the RPP on your right.

Here are some of the pictures:

We stayed at Pulau Angsa- the Bungalow Unit: RN60/nite. Basically, 6 adults can fit into the chalet. Air-conds, fans and huge wardrobe are in all rooms but there's only one bathroom in the chalet. However, there is another one outside of the chalet.

One amazing thing is the view! I witnessed the sunsets from the balcony... Very, very mesmerising!

Overall, the stay was more than expected! It's a relaxing getaway and full of tranquility! This I assure you...

Last day of our trip. Sob! Sob!

- Shower, breakfast
- Requested for a late check out- 1pm
- Went to Pasar Kraftangan for last minute shopping (phew! Shop till U Drop!)
- Packed our bags and checked out
- Met Firdaus again, we had to pay RM25 for the extra hour, car checked, clear
- Had lunch at the Airport KFC
- Departed from KK at around 3 plus...
- Reached LCCT around 6 plus

I really wanna go back to KK for the Island Hopping trip! Next time, gal! KK, till then... had an unforgettable vacation with my 2 best buddies! Muahss...

Sabah- Part 3

Wah... we woke up quite early today. Took shower, had heavy breakfast and off we went to Kinabalu Park (without actually having any maps in our hands). The one we had only provided details of KK city. So, with a huge determination, we headed to UMS, 1Borneo and made a couple of stops at the petrol stations and 1 3/4 hours later, we arrived at Kinabalu Park. We passed by Tamparuli Bridge but didn't stop at the Ranau Hot Springs... Along the way, the scenery was soul capturing...

Adnin made us hiked on our feet along the Kinabalu Park trail. I needed to make use of my inhaler as we were making our way back to the entrance. But it was worth every second of it... I wish we had more time to stay at the Park.

After spending our money at the pricy souvenir shop, (the one at the entrance is quite expensive compared to the one near the Botanical Park) we found our way to Kundasang. Bought some local knick-knacks. It was the 1st time I had a taste of the Spinach crackers.

And later, we climbed up the Kundasang Memorial Park. It strucked me as I found out that the Death March that started from Sandakan ended there, at Kundasang. The history of human sacrifice to fight for independence really strucked me when I visited Sandakan last 2 years. It was kinda a close chapter for that particular history lesson.

As we were climbing down the stairs, the Azan from a nearby mosque touched our hearts, and so off we went to the Kundasang Mosque, located on a very steep hill.

After completing prayers, we decided to head back KK. Before sitting down for our dinner at the 1 Borneo Mall, we paid a visit to the Tun Datu Mustapha building. My buddy couldn't get me for wanting to capture the photo of that barrel building. Sigh!

Then, we had our dinner at the 1 Borneo Food Court, we were so hungry, we had our dinner in a complete silence. I had my Laksa Sarawak. Ok lah, tasted better one. We were quite impressed of all the dining utensils are products of IKEA. Nice...

Finally, before ending our day, we made a stop to pray at the Likas Mosque. Cool! Especially with the lights in the nite really highlighted the beauty structure and towers of the mosque that sprawls on man-made lagoon...

Sabah- Part 2

We began our day by fighting who should get into the shower first. Hehe... We did have a good nite sleep. Reluctantly get out of the bed...However, we managed to make ourselves to the hotel's cafe for breakfast. The food was oklah, considering it to be complimentary for government servant, hence we shouldn't be complaining... the omellette was ok, but still cannot beat Sabah Hotel's. Best woo..

Then, we went to draw cash from the nearby banks- Maybank and Bank Islam are just about 5 mins away. After that, we drove to Penampang to visit Monsopiad Cultural Village. We stopped by at the Pusat Kebudayaan Sabah, to ask a man about the direction. Landmark: when u reach the main junction where the State Mosque is on your right, turn left and head to Penampang. When you reach a Tengkolok roundabout, take 3 o'clock and go straight until you see a big Monsopiad CV signboard and turn right. Don't get panic as you'll pass villages as if you're going back to your Atok's house.

There are variety of interesting things to try out... the tourist guide, Ms Liyana wore smile all the time and entertained all of our curious questions. Oh yes, the visitors are entitled for a private guided tour. But we decided to combine into a group, there were a local family of 4, a pair of Australian mom-daughter, a pair of local girlfriends and 3 of us. Fun group to be with. We spent about 2 1/2 hrs there.

And as our stomachs were already making lots of loud noises, we headed back to the city and had McD at Kg Air area (across CentrePoint Mall). The 2 gals craved for the Sundae. And I had my Sundae cone!

Continued our journey to the State Museum and spent about 1 1/2 hour there. The main building itself doesn't hold much of interesting displays. But the traditional houses replica were indeed amazing.

After the historical info input, we decided to do what girls do best! S.H.O.P.P.I.N.G... we went to the Pasar Kraftangan (Handicraft Market), formerly known as Pasar Filipina, and bought ourselves loads of crystal bracelets, brooches and some knickknack...

(too bz shopping, didn't take any photos.. but these are some of my acessories bought at the market)

Aaah, later was my fave part. DINNER at the food stall next to the Pasar Kraftangan. We had yummy fish, lobster, squids, chicken wings (far better than last nite's) and that joyful kicked chilli sambal (sauce for all the seafood).Seafoodilicious... and when we reached the hotel, took our shower and hit the pillow gratifyingly and blissfully... zZzZZZZzzzzz....

Sabah- Part 1

We're really excited about this trip. Our hols just started... 3 wks to go and we'll be spending part of it at the beautiful Land below the Wind...

Destination: Kota Kinabalu 3N4D
(yippie!!!)

AK5120 took off at 1020hrs and arr at about 1245. 10 mins earlier than the ETA. The skies were bright and we believed it was gonna be a great stay. Meet Firdaus from Zaratech for the car that we've booked earlier. The black bold Proton Saga waited for us patiently outside Terminal 2. So far, we're satisfied with the deal. I strongly recommend this car rental company to everyone...very professional and considerate! Just visit their website HERE. So,off we headed to our hotel. We'd actually booked a different hotel, but the nite before, we managed to surf this hotel with a very reasonable offer (if u're a government servant, don't forget to bring ur ID Card and request for it). Since, they were offering the promotional rate, for the government rate substitute, they threw complimentary breakfast for 3 of us, for the 3mornings. At least, we didn't have to worry about where to go four breakfasts! Tang Dynasty Park Hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. The front officer was the one whom reminded us about the government rate. Our room 502 with 3 single beds and all the basic amenities. Plus, they have the AXN and StarWorld Channel. Very rare for 3Star Hotels... Yay! We could still catch our fave shows!

After refreshing ourselves, the exploration began: 1st stop- Observatory Tower at Signal Hill, we tried to park our car at the Atkinson Clock area but couldn't get a spot, it was quite difficult to find the hill. The map mentioned Signal Hill but on the signboards: Bukit Istana. We took pictures and enjoyed the serene view... during sunset, it must be amazing here.

Down we went the hill, and headed to the Esplanade. Pictures again... loads of them, but I've got one Q: Why Swordfish? What's the connection btw KK and swordfish? Ida n Nin failed to provide me with the satisfactory answer... hehehe.... anyone knows?

After hanging out at the jetty,drove ourselves to Wawasan Plaza near the Anjung Senja roundabout (by now we've noticed that KK town itself has about or perhaps more than 10 roundabouts..byk seh!) Here, our first contribution to the KK income...spent some on the souvenirs and brooches and bracelets... ehehe... quite a bargain as well. Here, we succesfully hindered ourselves from grabbing too many stuffs as we knew, we would find better bargains elsewhere... only the handicrafts are quite reasonable (please do a research on the prices before u shop at KK).

As we came out of the Plaza, Tanjung Aru was our next hunt... yes, we did lose our ways for quite some time... (from the Plaza, head to KK Airport and at the big roundabout, take the Tg Aru turn). We had our dinner behind Tanjung Aru Plaza- Tanjung Aru Food Court. People told us not to miss the BBQ Chicken Wings... and we did not! The food here are Halal, most of them are Muslims except for the Nyonya Air... The food was quite good, we had Chicken Wings, Nasi Ayam Cili (Chilli Chicken Rice), Nasi Ikan (Fried Fish Rice) and Nasi Ayam Lada Hitam (Black Pepper Chicken Rice) and... the fresh coconut drinks! It was quite a quite place, perhaps because it was a weekday nite. I bet the place must be packed on weekends- u may choose varieties of foods here, and they also had shisha!

After our stomachs were contented, we made our way back to Sadong Jaya. The hotel has its own car park. Thank God, I was a bit worried earlier about the safety of the car. And... later we took turn with the shower and the 3 sound logs hit the bed.

Melaka- a very brief visit

20/1/09 (Tuesday)
I was on my short break and needed to get away from the marking thingy. So, my parents decided to agree with me to visit Melaka for 2N3D. First, we departed from home and took the Simpang Ampat exit after about 2 hr journey. We wanted to visit Muzium Adat Istiadat at Alor Gajah town. We reached there just few minutes before 1pm. We parked and went around it, then discovered it was closed already, with the chain lock on the entrance door. The website did not say anything about closing during the lunch hour break...I wonder why...??? Anyways, I only managed to take few snaps of the surrounding.

Then, we headed to Pengkalan Balak. We had lunch at Gerai Sri Pantai owned by the friendly couple- Kak Jah and husband. Must try Nasi Goreng Kampung Ayam, Cekodok Pisang and Rojak Buah. Yummy! Later, we made our way to Teratak Rehat Atie Ira - Kg Sg Kertah, Masjid Tanah. Very near to Pengkalan Balak. The air-cond room has a double bed, fridge, kettle, tv, dressing table, 2 stools, a wardrobe. The en-suite bathroom was a bit turn off as the aircond water dripped from the tube right in front of the bathroom door. Price= RM80, kak Sal said weekend it's RM100. Ok lah... 3/5. In the evening, we went to Menara Taming Sari and had dinner at Gerai Haji Musa, Alai.

21/1/09 (Wednesday)
Lazed around at the chalet until noon. Then went for lunch at D'Sawit- Kari kepala Ikan Jenahak which costs about RM30 (I had mee rebus tulang, yummy!). Abah and mama gave 4,5./5. Then we hit Hotel Seri Malaysia, Ayer Keroh- Family room: RM130 (Gomen rate). A double bed and a single bed, fridge, tv, kettle etc (std Seri Msia). In the evening, spent about 3 hours at Jaya Jusco... abah and mama melepak di JJ. Went back to the hotel and hit the bed.

22/1/09 (Thursday)
In the morning, bought newspaper at 7-11. Checked out in the afternoon. Went back straight to Bangi. Had lunch at PKNS building. Pleasant getaway!!!

Very reasonable price, tasty food with warm service located at Alai, Melaka.

From Melaka town, follow the signboards to Muar. If you are from Tesco (on your right and Melaka Central on your left), just go straight, take the flyover and after coming down, u'll see a very distinguished traffic light, take a right turn to Kandang. Follow the Umbai sign, u need to make another right turn at the 2nd cross junction with traffic lights, then go straight and u'll need to cross over a small bridge, just right after coming down from it, u'll see a blue arch on your right to enter Crystal Bay, turn right.
Turn right again when you reach the first junction. Kedai Haji Musa is located at Gerai 3,4,5 and 6. Happy Eating!

Day 1

We departed from LCCT at 1400 hour and arrived at Sandakan Airport at 1635. Picked up our Avanza and drove to Sabah Hotel. Checked into Room 316- spacious and comfy room with a pretty view of the swimming pool.

Later, we had a fair middling dinner at Leila’s Sedap Corner, next to the Star Cineplex. We slept like a log that night.

Day 2

Early in the morning, we had a very filling breakfast. I fell in love with the scrumptious omelette. Then we headed to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. After getting tired of reading the signboards, we started to follow the Tourist Van in front of us. Fortunately, it did bring us to our destination. We spent about 1 ½ hour there after witnessing the mesmerising mischievous Men of the Forest.

Next, we had a fail attempt at reaching the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary as the gravel road was too disturbing. Disappointingly, we turned back and went for lunch at Pizza Hut, Giant Supermarket.

After filling up our stomach, we made an attempt to trail down the Heritage Museum but failed by the vigorous rainfall. It was still drizzling when we made a quick stop at the One Hundred Steps (how come the Malay translation is Tangga Seribu?)

Before heading back to our crib, we stopped by at the infamous author's place: AGNES HOUSE. The entrance looks like the ‘dog shed’ as how it was described by the little one, Zakwan...

...and captured the breathtaking view from the Rotary Observation Pavillion.

Later, went back to the hotel and after the rain surrendered, we splashed ourselves into the bubbly, relaxing Jacuzzi. Splash!

In the evening, dinner was at Bismi Restaurant, shop lot behind Giant Hypermarket. Really enjoyed the undisputable smoky sizzling Seafood Noodle. Never saw a smoke like that before!

Day 3

In the morning, we made the second attemptto the Heritage Museum situated next to the MPSB Building. The ‘Aunty’ was very warm and chatty. We chatted with her and gained a lot of information. My Chronis were extremely excited at the artefacts.

Then, we jumped on the idea of paying a visit to the Crocodile Farm. The pungent smell was certainly a warm greeting. The 2 boys preferred to feed the Koi and Cat fishes rather than admiring the crocs. Abang ZZ stood spellbindingly in front of the monkeys’ cage.

A scary screech came from me caused by a balding ostrich while I was posing with its next door neighbour. Later we watched the Crocs Performance, although the third ‘Buaya Tembaga’ refused to cooperate. The two men brushed the croc’s teeth and another danced with the croc to the background Sabah traditional music.

Had our lunch at D Tiara Restaurant located at Bandar Labuk Jaya (take the 3 o’clock turn at the Croc Roundabout). Nice Steamed Chicken Rice...but not the ABC.

Next, we went to the Sandakan War Memorial Park, It touched my deepest heart to learn about the original POW (Prisoners of War) camp which was set up during the WWII Japanese Occupation in 1942 - 1945. In 1945, when the Japanese realised that they were losing the war, they forced the prisoners to march from the Sandakan camp to Ranau, that was about 250kms away. The march was known as 'Death March' as those whom couldn't proceed with the journey would be shot dead. Some even travelled bare foot. The march took almost a year to complete. And out of the 2700 prisoners, only 6 survived- 2 had escaped during the march and 4 escaped during their stint at Ranau.

Later, it was a disappointing stop at the Central Market. Nothing much was sold there. We headed back to the hotel and splashed ourselves again in the enjoyable Jacuzzi.

Again, we went back to Bandar Labuk Jaya for dinner at the Assam Pedas Restaurant, right next to the Datuk Pangeran . Dinner was quite pleasant. We had Ikan Merah Masak 3 Rasa, Kailan Masak Tiram and Sotong Goreng Tepung. The cost was only RM3 (including drinks). The place was a quite popular hangout. Might be because of the Free WiFi and Big Screen.

Then, went back to the hotel and hit the pillows with satisfied stomachs...ZZZzzz.....

Day 4

After consuming the scrumptious omelette, we decided to take a walk around the hotel. They have a nature trail and a mini suspension bridge. The boys loved the walk... later, before checked out, the last splash was excitedly enjoyed by them.

Before we headed to the airport, we went to Bandar Labuk Jaya for a quick lunch. The meal was a bit disappointment, but I was really mesmerised by the huge size of my coconut.

At the airport, we managed to grab a couple of pearl brooches. Mind u, it’s really difficult to find pearls at Sandakan. Even when we succeeded, the price was fixed everywhere and expensive compared to KK’s price. The airport shop was the only one where we managed to get 30% for locals. Eager to go home, we departed at about 1705 and reached Mama’s at about 2000. End of trip.

Taman Mini Malaysia and Taman ASEAN

Naz nagged us all the time of the idea paying a visit to Taman Mini Malaysia and Taman Mini ASEAN. To fulfill her desire... hehehe... we did spend half of the day there.

We started off by exploring all the Malay traditional houses. The last time I came here, it was about 15 years ago... Yes.. it was really a long time ago... And that was the reason why I was really impressed of the esthetical values. I was young back then, wasn’t able to appreciate the architectural values... I don’t really know much about art but I know that in the olden days... the people were really brilliant in building houses despite of their lack of educational background.

We even had the chance of being the audiene to the Malay traditional dance show. At the end of the show, they held a ‘joget lambak’ session and pulled the audience to the dance stage. We managed to escape ourselves and proceeded with the Taman Mini ASEAN. Rumah Thailand

It seemed as if, the management only spent most of the maintenance cost on the Malaysian houses only. Mini ASEAN Park was a bit abandoned. My favourite would be Thailand House. I love the idea of having a concourse in the middle of the house and all the rooms are facing towards the centre court.

At the end of the visit, we ran out of energy but we really had a great fun. Thanks all for the great company, it was worth a visit.

Port Dickson- December 2007

Port Dickson is not a strange place for us. It was the place that we’ve keep coming back since we were young. But I believe PD now has more to offer other than the sandy beaches such Teluk Kemang, Blue Lagoon, Batu Lapan, etc. I can’t recommend any accomodation since we would normally rent a place at either my dad or sis’ co’s sites. But once we stayed at Guoman. I’ve got nothing much to comment. The room was spacious. The pool was superb and the interior furniture really lives up to the 5 Star standard.

We are never tired of revisiting this infamous beach. 2 years ago, besides dipping into the Straits of Malacca, we visited several nearby attractive spots. The Ostrich Farm does only hold a number ostriches. but there were also monkeys. rabbits, goats, crocs. snakes to be enjoyed especially by the kids. I did get intimidate by the ostrich while feeding them. They could really pecked your palms.

Then we went for an educational visit to the Muzium Tentera Darat Malaysia. I had fun climbing the real tanks. I believe this is actually a very recommended place for History teachers to bring the students for a visit. I wish it existed during my school days. As it is really a fun way to learn about our nation’s history. And the exhibits are 1^st class! It is not anything like a very dull and abandoned museum but I would say your PD visit may not be complete if you don’t stop by here.

2007

Last year, on our way to PD, we stopped by other tourist attraction. We took the Seremban exit and visited the State Museum. The building is high in esthetical value. When we went there, they held a Herbs Exhibition located at the upper level of the main building. That I would have to say that the exhibits were not looked after appropriately. Some of the plants were already dead but were not removed from the hall... However, I did learn many Scientific Terms for the plants that I see everyday.

Later, we stopped at Kota Lukut. It brought us back to the. All of us managed to reach the top of the hill though we had to climb up the steep stairs.

Everytime we go there, we would never failed to dine at Warung Mak Mah (No 1001 & 1002, Km 1 Kedai Jamek) for its delicious Nasi Ayam (Chicken Rice) and also the Cendol Stall at the road side (I don’t actually remember the exact location). And yes, the Pasar Malam that is held every Saturday night is also a place you-must-visit if you are really interested in searching for the local food or local handcrafts.

Port Dickson is certainly a place for any family to get-away at any time of the year.

Canoeing

Fenatz! I think we canoed about 3 ke 5 km kot... I ran out of breath few times and that led me and my partner being the 2^nd last pair to arrive at the beach. A very mental and physical abuse! But I did enjoy it especially when we were making the U-Turn around the small island; the water was quite unfriendly and rocked our canoe until there was a point when I thought the canoe would turn over and throw us into the sea. But it did not, fortunately..I didn’t think the wave could deal with my weight. Haha...

Fishing

Best! Best! Best! We were brought to middle of the sea by a fishing boat. And I managed to catch a small Kelisa and an anak Siakap. When we disembarked at the beach, my Director, Mr SN showed me the fishes that he had caught. They were about 5 times larger than mine. Later, he invited me to join him that nite to the sea again. Erk.. to be honest, I didn’t think I could stand riding on the boat again. Banyak pening kepala mak ni..

Snorkelling

Wah... it was my first time. And I was out of breath! Captured by the moments. I could bet that those who love this activity, must have thought that I was overreacting. I was indeed! Fishes were beautiful, corals were colourful and sea cucumber! Normally I would only see the processed ones only- Minyak Gamat. They were crawling on the sea bed. And when we went to the Marine Park, it was more than I could imagine.

Rappeling

Erm...not to brag... but I’ve done this many times before. Abseiling, Fox Flying and Rappeling are the things that I really enjoyed when I went for any camps. Takut lah jugak all the time but I would normally relax while doing it... but this time it was not really scarry maybe because the slope was not that steep or maybe because the camp participants are quite ederly people (termasuklah makcik ni) and those muscular abang2 firefighters whom assisted us were also appealing.. hihihi

Swimming

Argh... I am really afraid of water since that one incident in the swimming pool. I could swim a bit but fear posseses me all the time. So, thanks to Rudy, he pulled all the way from the mid ocean to the shore, despite of his bebel bebel all the way... but he was being very nice and helpful. Penat tau... we had to swim about 500m as our big boat could not disembark at the shore.

BBQ on the isolated small Island

That was the purpose of us being thrown into the mid sea and swam to the shore. We ate BBQ fishes wrapped in the big leaves. Sedap... then after our stomaches were filled up, we rode on the small boat and boarded the big boat. On the way back to the jetty, I puked. Peninglah... and was very fatigued.

Marine Park

Mesmerised, magnificent, amazing, awe...etc were the feelings I felt. Sangat menarik tau! While some the guys jumped into the sea to swim in the crystal clear sea along with the colourful fishes, me and Iza sat on the bridge and attractted the fishes by feeding them with the fish bread we bought at the park.

Those were the some of the activities that we did for the 3 nights and 4 days.The chalets were satisfactory. 2 double beds and an ensuite bathroom. It is definitely a place that I would like to pay another visit. And go snorkelling again and again...

harlow. i'm so malas to update my blog. the internet connection seems to be quite unrealiable lately. selow nak mampus. hehe.. so, i'm not uploading any pictures here, just a home made video for your viewing. eh?

continuing from the previous entry, our journey brought us to Kota Bharu, Kelantan. after a 3 hours bus journey, we arrived at the KB bus station. Ogy's student, Joe volunteered to pick us up and bring us around.

we had lunch at pusat kraftangan which was very cheap. and food was really nice too. we went to MPKB for some tudung. everything is quite cheap but we were running low on cash already.

we stayed at gee's friend's (Mila) place in Kubang Kerian near USM. i think i have a pakcik saudara somewhere there but i dont know which one. and time was quite limited so not so much time berziarah.

the next day, we took Mila's car and drive around self around KB. we got lost getting to Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah and after almost 30minutes asking around, we finally found the pasar. first thing we did was looking for nasi dagang! hehe. we all know nasi dagang kelantan and terengganu is different from one another, but both was very yummeh. and cheap..

the pasar offered us keropok, rempah, delicacies and sorts. i managed to grab hold a bottle of tomyam paste that was quite very good! later somebody told me i should've bought the paste for paprik. aiya, mana aku tau la..

after spending more cash at the pasar, we took a long trip to Rantau Panjang. no maps nor knowledge getting to that place, we only followed the signboard. Apparently, its quite good, the journey took us 45minutes to the place.

running very almost none cash in hand, we made a 2 hours pusing2 around the place. bought more tudung, bags, shoes??? and cashew nut! hehehe.. we had to make a move when we finally managed to be cashless. nasib baik xde tol nak bayo!!

the journey back to KB from rantau panjang took us on a different route. a new highway next to the sawah bendang was quite peaceful. i was driving so not so much picture there.

we took a short lunch break at KB Mall. managed to be sesat again getting to Kubang Kerian and by the time we got back home, we were running on masa kecemasan to pack and mandi manda. hehe.. it was quite a 100metres dash.

The KB airport is quite a modern airport. it's very2 nice and comfortable. the sad part is/was i couldn't get any fridge magnet from Kelantan. anybody knows where to get one eh?

journey home was very2 tiring. and a full flight. ada this one chic on the same flight that was wearing this white sexy dress. ok, i dont mind sexy people, but please la.. kindly not show your underwear to everbody around u. so not appetizing ok? sexy is ok, but slutty is a no-no.

the trip to KB was very entertaining but rasa macam tak puas. maybe it was shorter than the one in KT, but still quite very enjoyable one.

Take your time visiting our country people, there's so much more place to explore with new experience and adventure.

Coming back from Melaka, we had a one night compulsory rest in Bandar Baru Bangi. The first team to arrive yesterday leaves first. hehe. feeling Amazing Race gitu eh? Yeah, Gee managed to wake me up at 4 am to mandi and get ready for LCCT. And we had breakfast at the ever so penuh McD. lots of kiasu people in the morning i tell you. heh..

Day One
Flight to KT is only a 55-minutes journey. Flight was very kosong, kiteorg duduk sorang2 per row coz we both wanted the window view. hehe. mau gadoh kot kalau kene beralah for the seat, kan gee? hahaha. lama betul tak naik flight domestic ni, the last time was to Kuantan in 93. but kalau orang tanye berapa lama flight tu, i would say, "sebungkus ribena RM4.50 yang di tuang ke dlm cawan berisi ais untuk sejuk dan di minum sehingga habis" and thats not long kan? Our very own PSU (that's Penolong Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri for the rest of you) En Zul was already waiting for us via arrival at Sultan Mahmud Airport. Off we went for breakfast near the ocean, but that particular Sunday, the Tganu-ian was on cuti ganti Awal Muharram. But we made a stop for pictures la kan?

My Love-Hate relationship Partner

So we had breakfast. so gossip time. Yeah, time to update Zul with KL juicy gossips. we kind of give him a shock actually. hehe. i aint telling u the gossip here though. u know who u are.. yeah, so breakfast was Nasi Minyak and Nasi Dagang. i had Teh Peng!! lama siut tak sebut tu. dlu kat kuantan belajar the language, kind of nice to say it again. We stayed at Zul's place in Jalan Kamaruddin. apparently, a family friend found out i was in KT, so we invited ourself for lunch at their place. But before lunch, Zul showed us around KT.
We went to Pulau Duyong to check out the Monsoon Cup area. it's still under renovation, but very2 nice place. Then we went to Dataran Syahbandar.

It's like a dermaga, but not quite, but very2 nice. There's a kraft shop selling very2 nice hand woven baskets, bags and sorts. Memandangkan we had the 'org gomen' with us, we kinda get few things cheaper. ehehe.. but do stop at the shop, it under a ship-like store. oh, i can't remember did we go to the mosque first or town? hmm.. nyways doesn't matter pun, we went and visit the famous Masjid Terapung or Masjid Tengku Tengah Zaharah. It's very beautiful up close, seriously. Wished i was around that area during sunset, but didn't get the chance.

Peacefulness at it's best

I forgot. we went to HQ of SUK, KT. cool place. the typicall gomen office, but it's kind of a proud moment when seeing his name on the door. my friend, one of the guys. we have friends in high places!!! hehehehe... oh ya.. we went to the Club house of Gomen Officer and had karaoke session. the system was firstly hard to digest but we karaoke expert managed to make our way through it. hahahahha..

After that, we balik home for a while and we kinda pengsan. The hot scorching day made us took quite a nap to slumber. hehe. we woke up when Zul membebel2 in front of our room saying things like "Oi, kalau nak tido baik takyah datang KT".. adoi, it was already 6! we lost precious hour by sleeping. but the sleep was quite refreshing! So zul took us on a 20 minutes drive to Teluk Ketapang for Seafood goreng tepung! Everything was nicely celup with tasty tepung and deep fried! wow! it was really sedap ok. and cheap!
It was already maghrib time, so Bapak Zul didn't let me browse thru the area too much. takot aku kene sorok kot? hehehe..

We didn't do anything much that night. it was the Musik Musik final, so lepak2 at home je. kalau keluar pon, we'd be too tired even to walk!

Day Two
it's good to wake up and know you're in an exciting place. Had light breakfast, but still drooling on the idea of Nasi Dagang! i'm in my day two and i have even taste it! wah, thats not good. But zul had to work, and his wife Najah too. So we were thinking of doing some sightseeing ourself. hey it's our country right? we're supposed to be able to navigate ourself around right? no. we didn't. not that we got afraid but zul wouldn't let us. hahahhha. somehow he's like a big brother that i dont have. he had his suk driver to send us to Museum Terengganu.

it's a big place, all 67 acres of it. but we only managed to go around the main museum and that already took us 2 hours. wow. it's very2 nice place. go check out the museum whenever you're in KT. it's definitely worth it. Next we were sent off to Pasar Payang to do some shopping, but we decided to talk a walk to Dataran Shahbandar for few souviners (camne eja la?) and lunch break at Restoran Terapung. adoilah!! still no Nasi Dagang!! huwaa.. i was ready to get desperate, but this really nice drink managed to calm me..

Then, before Pasar Payang, we took a boat trip to Seberang Takir. Zul told us it was a Rm0.50 ride, but the pakcik asked for RM0.80. so i was telling ogy, the pakcik paw us. apparently, zul was wrong.. it's actually is a rm0.80 ride. hehhee..

Then we went off to Pasar Payang for shopping time. By this time, my battery was low and memory running out. so xde gambar at this part of activity. and time and cash is actually jealous of us. by 4 we were 30kg heavier and thinning purses. the batiks... i shall be back!! That night Zul went around looking for Nasi dagang for me. hehehe. tapi nerder malam2 kan.. so we had nasi lemak from dataran shahbandar. oh wait, laksam, lakse and nasi lemak! hehehe.. awesome personified! we took the earliest bus out of KT to KB. and yes, we did have our nasi dagang. sedap. and very cheap.. at the new bus station in KT. but that's on a different story page altogether. Kuala Terengganu is an awesome place! Takde jam, except near mydin that was newly opened, but the rest is smooth flowing. Very nice beach, very nice food, and above all, a shopping paradise with a big RM on it! hehhe... seriously! And we had the nicest tuan rumah, so thank you very2 much for your hospitality!!
